History of the Peoples of Kansas

You’ve heard the myths and legends; now it’s time to dive deep into the history: Indigenous lifeways; forced movement; the first all-Black town in the West; Bleeding Kansas and the Border War; the Populist Revolt; the Dust Bowl; Brown v. Board of Topeka, Kansas. While class sessions will be discussion-based, many sessions will feature on-site archival research, visits to museums, and other expeditions to find history beyond the classroom.
