Shania Lopez-Cabrera

Shania joined the Western History Association in May 2024 after graduating from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership. Prior to working with the WHA, she spent seven years in the banking industry and two in nonprofit administration. Shania loves to volunteer and has served on the boards of LWN and Lawrence Pride, as well as on the Jayhawk Breakfast Rotary Club’s membership committee. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and hanging out with her wife and their five cats.

As the Administrative Event Coordinator for the WHA, Shania provides high-level administrative support to the Executive Director, Dr. Elaine Nelson. Her responsibilities include managing the organization’s operations and coordinating its annual calendar of events.
