Medieval History

Your Bachelor’s degree is literally medieval. Master’s degrees are, too. In fact, the first universities began in medieval Europe! HIST 108 is an 8-week, part-of-term course that introduces medieval history through some of its most famous and influential primary sources. Students can expect weekly readings, regular discussion boards, short lectures, and engaging documentaries. With cathedrals and crusades, the tragedy of plague and the majesty of renaissance, the past might be a foreign country—but it intersects the present in surprising and refreshing ways. Together we will discover that medieval Europeans are not just our ancestors, but our contemporaries as well.
