At its 2015 annual meeting, the American Historical Association awarded Professor Gregory Cushman the Jerry Bentley Prize in World History for the best book of the year in the field of world history for his Guano and the Opening of the Pacific World: A Global Ecological History (Cambridge), and Professor Jacob Dorman with the Wesley-Logan Prize for the best book on African diaspora history for Chosen People: The Rise of American Black Israelite Religions (Oxford).
