Professor Hagel Leads New History Department Internship
This fall, the History Department launched its first Historical Research Internship Program (HIST 493) for Undergraduate History students, lead by Professor Jonathan Hagel.
The Internship provides students with the opportunity to gain hands on research experience and explore the documentary record of the Department of History. "For me personally, I want to bring students into the archive. This is part of a broader effort to rethink the way I teach history-to make it more inquiry-driven, more exploratory, more experiential," Hagel said.
Interns will practice working independently and collaboratively on common projects, utilizing databases, fact checking, compiling sources, and honing their historian skillset. They will publish their findings on a newly created blog, starting next week.
