My research interests include U.S. Military History, 20th Century U.S. History, Civil-Military Relationships, Counterinsurgency, & Psychological Warfare.

My research focuses on the relationship between U.S. military personnel and local populations in the Middle East in early 21st century conflicts. I am particularly interested in understanding how changes in the troops’ cultural training helps to shape their behavior and experience in theater.
